Drunk on New Wine.
From: Mimi of BTH
Dearest Sibling,
It’s my first time writing to you and I definitely feel a rush of different emotions, but most importantly, it feels warm.
How are you really? I want you to pause and take a minute to honestly answer this.
I’m not exactly sure where to start this letter from so I’ll start from somewhere and anywhere. The only thing on my mind was I really wanted to write to you this month. I don’t know if you can sense it sibling but June feels like an interesting month. It feels like a month heavy with the fulfilment of promises but also heavy with a call to obedience.
If I am being honest, the entire year has been quite interesting. It feels like a set up and not a set up at the same time. There’s so much the Lord is doing in His body and people.
I remember standing beside my friend at the crossover service, and as if we sensed it at the same time, we looked at ourselves and muttered “What a year 2024 is about to be”, eyes brimming with tears.
Why am I telling you all this? I don’t really know but what I know is the Father is calling to His children, they that are now His own, those who have believed in the sacrifice of Christ and now carry His Spirit.
The Father is calling us to sit, to fix our gaze on Him and to intimacy. The goal is not what we can receive but on the giver. As you do this you will find that those struggles, addictions, habits, doubts and anxiety pale in comparison to the King. In this sixth month of the year, if you don’t mind indulging me, let’s choose to focus on the might of our God rather than the weight of those struggles.
A friend would always tell me, “If you truly encounter God, you can never remain the same”.
You may be thinking, “How do I do this?”
Well intimacy is formed through fellowship and communication. You want to know the person and spend time with them. You can’t claim to love someone you don’t know neither can you fix your gaze on that person. We have the Bible for this reason, we can learn more about God by reading His word. Here is a Bible Plan to Start the month with.
Spend time praying and speaking to the Father. Have you ever loved or liked someone so much that you want to speak to them all day and everyday? Sometimes we get stuck in praying at only specific times, we forget prayer is also communication. Yes have special times of prayer (short and long) but you can also talk to God in between. As you work, as you design, as you stroll, etc.
Share your faith with others. I’ve found that the more I talk about my faith the more convicted I am. I’m reminded that this is what I truly believe, Jesus is indeed real to me.
I’ll end with this verse Philippians 4:8 (open your Bible to read it 😅). I’ll attach this playlist a sibling created and I hope it helps.
A MONTH OF NEW WINE
Do you truly trust that God will keep His word?(Numbers 23:19)
As you go through this month, have these things in mind.
It’s a season where God is ushering us into the manifestation of the things He has spoken concerning us. Prophecies have gone ahead and now is the time we begin to see them fulfilled. What are you doing concerning those words you have received? Are you still praying them? Do you believe all that God has said? Because the vision is for an appointed them, though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, it will not tarry. (Habakkuk 2:3).
New wine requires New wine skins. Last month we were told “behold old things have passed away and all things have become new”. What are the old things that you must let go of to make room for the Newness and Freshness that has now come? Remember, you’re not praying for New wine, but you’re making your skins new to accommodate the new wine. You’re preparing to receive the harvest.
Never forsake the assembling together of God’s people. For example, BTH 😉. There is something about seeing others fervent for God that sparks fervency in you, the words spoken over you births life. Don’t joke with it. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
